The “Army and Navy” is a Beaux-Arts apartment building built in 1926. We combined and completely renovated a pair of neglected apartments for two journalists with a large art collection.
Wide arches were added to link the major spaces, creating long vistas and bringing light into the interior of the apartment. Equipment for air conditioning, plumbing and electrical service is concealed in cabinetry and large crown moldings.
